When I started poking around, the … Web1 Jul 2015 · What I discovered is that the system somehow recognizes when the compressor clutch is slipping and shuts it down completely. The only way to resurrect the AC is to turn the engine off, then restart it. My fix was to simply pull the clutch and remove one of the 2 shim washers to close up the air gap.
